Friends, like family but a little bit better.
I'm going to say it. Great friends can know you better than your own family. True friendship is built on love and trust, like any good relationship. They will be completely honest with you and know all of your embarrassing moments that you may not want to tell your family. When you spend time with your friends you realise how awesome it is to be yourself, with no filter, quirks and all!
The old saying goes (quoted from my mum), "good friends become your family" well, it is very true, because your closest friends are those that have been there by your side through everything. With a good friend, you never have to worry about their intentions or doubt their advice, because they always have your best interests at heart.
Another great thing is, you actually get on with your friends. Unlike some family gatherings that you wish you did not have to go to, friends are the ones you choose to spend your time with, you feel confident with, you laugh with, you cry with, confident knowing that they will be be your side through thick and thin.
Plus there is the simple fact that only your friends know what song you love, the latest dance moves (unlike daggy Mum and Dad) and where you like to sit on the bus. Your own parents don’t have a clue most of the time! Friends are great, am I right?
Choose your friends wisely, make sure they inspire and motivate you, care for you and make you laugh. A good friend will know when you need them. You don't need to see or talk to them each day, that's the beauty of true friendship, they are always there when you need them, and that's what matters the most.
So, treat your friends with lots of love, care and laughs. Good friends can be hard to come by.
